Lark Bent

Lark Bent Architect

With over 30 years of experience, Lark Bent designs homes that are both comfortable and creatively composed. Beyond being beautiful, Lark's designs are also green and healthy if non-toxic building materials and resource efficient materials/systems are integrated into the building.

Since Lark specializes in green architecture, she often integrates passive solar heating, photovoltaic panels, radiant heat, water catchment, grey-water systems and especially non-toxic building materials into her homes. You get to choose what you want to include in your home to make it healthy and ecologically sustainable. And if you do choose to include these green features, be prepared to experience healthier indoor air quality, lower (or even non-existent) utility bills, and a greater sense of natural beauty. To help you find and choose your green building materials, Lark recommends that you check out the Healthy Construction Guidelines sold on this website as well as the Green Remodeling book sold by David Johnston.

As for her background, Lark graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Architecture in 1979 and got her architect's license in 1990. Since 1976, she has designed or collaborated on over 500 residential, commercial and industrial projects. In addition to being a prolific architect, she is also a long-time artist and, within the past five years, an avid green building activist- volunteering with a number of green building related organizations and events.
