R. Wayne "Cooter" Ramsey Jr., AIA
Allison Ramsey Architects, Inc.
Cooter joined William Allison Associates as Production Manager/Coordinator in 1994 after assisting a variety of different companies (Architects, Engineers, Surveyors, Contractors, and Landscapers) with their design and drafting needs. Cooter has over 13 years experience with multi–discipline engineering and construction firms and has handled a variety of both public and private sector projects. Cooter was offered and accepted partnership with William Allison in 1998. His work experience includes single and multi–family residential, light commercial, warehouse, industrial, and religious projects. Cooter's responsibilities are design, codes research, construction documents and specifications, and construction administration. Cooter's role is typically the liaison between the owner, contractor and architect for his ability to effectively coordinate and maintain relationships between all parties involved in the design, review and construction process. Cooter has also been instrumental in coordinating neighborhood development consultation, implementation, and town planning services for many new urbanist developments. Some of the many successful neighborhoods that Cooter actively participated in are Newpoint, Habersham, Lake Carolina, Water Sound and Water Color, Cumberland Harbour (St. Marys, Georgia), Summerville (Athens, Georgia), Chico (Chico, California), East Beach (Norfolk, Virginia) and the award–winning I'On development. Cooter is a native to Beaufort and is dedicated to maintaining, preserving, and enhancing what the community already has and will soon offer its residents. Cooter is currently the chairman of the Northern Beaufort County Highway Corridor Review Board. Additional community services include Project Shelter (a local United Way organization), Historic Beaufort Foundation, and a participant of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul's Food Pantry (a local organization providing food for the needy).
