The architect modified the plans for the original Field of Dreams for one of her clients, and then made the plans available to us. She didn't change the look and feel of the house – one of the most popular farmhouses ever drawn! – but rather made a couple of changes to the floor plans on each level, and added an attached garage. More customers purchase the plans for this house than the original now, but many of them still want a detached garage, so we include the garage plans from the original when we ship plans for version 2.

Since the original Maple Forest house was so wildly popular, when the architects decided to create this second version they strove to change the appearance and feel as little as possible. It's 10% smaller than the original, and about 20% less expensive to build. Room positions were changed to give homeowners a different option that might be better suited to their land and their view, and they added a playroom/studio/office over the garage.

The outer walls of this attractive home are lined with windows and glazed doors, so the house is filled with light during the day, and there are amazing views from the living room, family room, kitchen and breakfast nook. The kitchen is open to the family room – separated only by a long counter with a raised bar on the outer edge – so the corner fireplace can be enjoyed from either room. Upstairs there's a master suite with a vaulted ceiling and a private balcony, plus three additional bedrooms as well as a conveniently located laundry.

This unique home has a lookout tower atop a truncated pyramid–shaped portion of the house where the staircase is located. All four walls are filled with windows, and since it sits above the rest of the house, you have a true 360–degree view! This is a strikingly attractive house on the exterior, and the interior is both unique and beautiful. Both the front and rear walls where the living room, dining room, and kitchen are located are lined with windows that provide terrific views and let in loads of natural light. The ceiling in the living room vaults to a dramatic 19', and a fireplace in the corner can also be enjoyed from the kitchen and the dining room.

While designed for a rural setting, this handsome house would fit in nearly any setting. An 8'–deep covered porch spans the entire front of the house before wrapping around each side, and there's a 10'–deep covered porch in the rear. In addition to the master suite on the main level, there's room for a guest bedroom that could be used as a home office, den or study if you prefer. There are two additional bedrooms on the upper level, along with a large rec room with a vaulted ceiling.
