Description
Cottage Club packs a lot of home into a relatively small footprint. Its steep pitched roof, clapboard style siding, and prominent wood support posts allow the home to fit in almost any setting.
The front entry of the home is a multifunctional central hub. It serves as a formal entry, the landing at the bottom of the stairs, and as a hallway to the media room, kitchen hall and the living room. An arched entryway leads into the living room. A large stone fireplace is set at an angle to the room, and serves as a visual divide that separates the living area from the dining area. The sizable kitchen is visually open to the dining room and living area. A door off the living room opens onto a glassed–in sun room (or screened porch) in the area below bedrooms 2 and 4 above. The choice of building a glassed sun room or a screened porch will depend on climate, orientation of the home, and personal preference. Sliding glass doors off both the sun room and the dinning room open onto a rear deck. The deck is partly covered in the area backing the fireplace in order to provide a true outdoor place that is still protected from the weather.
The upper level of the home contains all four bedrooms. The master suite is placed to the rear of the home. Bedroom 3 is a large room at the top of the stairs, and the more modest-sized bedrooms 2 and 4 are at the far end of the hall and are above the sun room. There is a shared full bath for these rooms.
The basement of the home is left as unfinished storage space. Rather than an enclosed garage, there is a carport below the dinning room and kitchen area. The carport is accessed from the rear of the home and therefore is hidden.
Foundation Info
This house was originally designed to have a basement foundation. However, if you prefer a crawlspace or a slab foundation, these are fairly simple and inexpensive changes that your builder can often make for you. If the basement design is not displayed in the Floor Plans, it's because it is unfinished.
