At home in nature, this charming home was designed to handle the extreme weather of the Minnesota countryside. While nearly identical to Rustic Retreat (by the same architect) on the outside, the interior is configured very differently. A massive stone chimney is located near the entrance.

You enter the house via the conditioned breezeway between it and the two–car garage. The breezeway can act as an airlock on extremely cold or hot days. The main living area has a completely open floor plan. The large living and dining area is surrounded by windows that provide views to the outdoors, and that let in abundant natural light. This entire area is vaulted to follow the pitch of the roof. The kitchen is open to these areas and enjoys the same views. An old–fashioned stone fireplace faces the living areas, and a door leads to a screened porch.

On your right as you enter the house are the stairs leading upstairs, and just beyond are the stairs to the lower level. As you pass between these stairs and the kitchen you come to three doors leading to two bedrooms and a full bath.

The couple's realm upstairs includes a bedroom with a view, a large walk–in closet, a full bath, and a small loft area. The lower level has a fourth bedroom with a full bath, a large rumpus room, a laundry, and room for mechanicals and storage.
