Description
Sky High is a unique four–story house with a very small footprint. It was originally designed in the center of an island with dense vegetation, which effectively hid views of the nearby lake. The architect solved the problem by designing a vertical "tree house", incorporating four levels above the ground. The result was a cozy, three-bedroom cabin with upper level views to a lake framed by neighboring trees.
On the first level you enter into an entry hall, which leads to a bedroom with a full bath, and to a stairwell to the right. The bedroom has sliding doors that lead to a small outdoor deck, which is covered by the floor above.
On the second level there is a spacious landing and a hallway that leads to a bedroom with a kitchenette and a hot tub. Further down the hall is a full bath. The square footage on this floor is made slightly larger than the first level by having part of the bedroom extended, and supported by posts.
The third level is an open floor plan with a kitchen, dining area, and living room, and is the same size as the second level. There is a gas fireplace in the living room, and a door that leads to a small deck.
On the fourth level is a third bedroom with a full bath and a hot tub. Upper windows line the walls to grace the room with plenty of sunshine and views. Sliding doors lead to an exterior deck for enjoying the outdoors.
