Description
The exterior of this Mediterranean style home is detailed with traditional elements, such as tapered columns, decorative arabesques and moldings, arched openings, textured stucco, and 'Spanish' tile roofing. The interior rooms feature high coffered ceilings and arched openings, and the private courtyards located throughout extend the living spaces.
The covered porch is framed with tapered columns, which has decorative wrought iron railings in between them. The porch is oversized, creating space for outdoor furniture and plants. The entry foyer has a coffered ceiling and has a wall on either side of it with niches in the wall, and arched openings looking into side foyers. Straight ahead is a large living room, framed by decorative columns with arched openings in between. The living room has a coffered ceiling, a fireplace, and a curved rear window wall looking out to the rear. To the right of the entry foyer is a den/library with large windows looking out to the front and covered entry. A vestibule leads to a luxurious master suite that takes up a whole wing of the house. Off of the vestibule there is a full cabana bath, which has a secondary door to the backyard. Upon entering the master bedroom suite, you find yourself in a private vestibule with the bedroom to the left and the closets and bathroom to the right. The bedroom has two pairs of French doors leading to the backyard, built–in niches, and an opening to another vestibule that leads to a retreat room and a private courtyard space. The retreat room is octagonal in shape, providing views and abundant sunlight through the multiple windows. The bedroom, vestibules, and retreat room all have coffered ceilings as well. The master bath and closets can be accessed by either of the vestibules, from the bedroom, or the retreat room. Two huge walk–in closets are located next to the luxurious bath area, which features 'his' and 'her'bathrooms, and a centrally located dressing area. The 'his' bathroom has a large shower with a tiled seat, while the 'her' bathroom has a large whirlpool tub and an atrium with clerestory windows.
To the left of the entry foyer is a formal dining room, with coffered ceilings, and windows looking out to the front and the covered porch. Next to the dining room is a butler's pantry, which is open to the kitchen vestibule. The kitchen has a coffered ceiling, a center island with a prep sink, and an eating counter with a breakfast nook on the other side of it. The breakfast nook has angled walls with windows looking out to the covered patio at the rear, and is open to the family room. The family room has a bar in one corner, and a pair of French doors on either side of it. One pair of doors leads to the covered patio, and the other leads to a side patio.
From the kitchen vestibule, the hallway at the left leads to a laundry room and a two–car garage, which has room for a golf cart or small workshop. If you go straight down the hallway from the kitchen vestibule, you pass a powder room and utility closets before coming to three bedrooms. Each of the three bedrooms features walk–in closets and a full private bath. Bedrooms 3 and 4 each have a pair of French doors that open onto a private courtyard space.
Please Note
The plans for this home call for reinforced concrete block exterior walls. If you plan to construct this house with any other exterior wall system, we highly recommend that you purchase the plans in electronic format.
Foundation Info
This house was originally designed to have a slab foundation. You can of course change it to a full or partial basement, or to a crawlspace, but you will need the help of a local builder or designer, and the new foundation plans should be reviewed by a structural engineer prior to construction.
