With its stepped roofs, wood shingles, and banded together decorative glass windows, this home is reminiscent of the Prairie style, which originated in the Midwest. While there were many architects that contributed to the development of the Prairie School, the works of Frank Lloyd Wright remain the best–known examples. This home features plenty of space to relax and entertain, with a lounge area, a game room and a media room on the upper floor. This house can be easily modified to include a full in–law unit on the main floor. If this is of interest to you, please read the section near the end of this Description titled In–Law Unit.

You approach this home through a central courtyard, walking under a trellis, to the covered entry porch. Once inside the foyer, square columns with dropped soffits above them visually separate the open living space. To the left there is a formal dining room, and straight ahead is an open great room with exposed beams in the coffered ceiling. A stately fireplace is located on the right side, and a pair of doors leads to a covered terrace. A wall of windows at the rear look out to the backyard, and bring plenty of sunlight into the space. A row of columns separates the great room from the open kitchen. A breakfast nook is located in one corner, and looks out to the backyard through the wall of windows and the glazed door that accesses the back yard. A center work island has a double sink, which frees up counter space for working, and an extended bar for eating. A door opening accesses a small hallway that leads to a pantry, a one–car garage, a laundry room, and a guest suite. The suite features a sitting area with bay windows, a vaulted ceiling, and a full bathroom.

From the entry foyer, a gallery on the left leads to a stairwell, a powder room, a mudroom, and a two–car garage. To the right of the foyer is the master bedroom suite. The master bedroom has a tray ceiling, and a door to the covered terrace at the rear of the house. The luxurious master bath has a private toilet room, a whirlpool tub, a separate shower, two separate vanity sink areas, and doors to the 'his' and 'her' walk–in closets. A barrel ceiling in the center of the bathroom is located above the whirlpool tub.

The upper floor has plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. After coming up the stairs, you find yourself on an oversized balcony that leads to a playroom, a bedroom with a full bath, and a media room. As you continue down the hall, you find yourself in a dramatic lounge space, which has a ceiling that reaches over 19' in height. A door from the lounge space opens onto an outdoor balcony that looks down to the entry courtyard. On the other side of the lounge space, a pair of doors opens into an open game room with ceilings that slope up to a 14'–9" flat ceiling. Abundant windows look out to the rear, and flood the room with sunlight. Further down the hall, there are two more bedroom suites, each with its own walk–in closet and private full bath.

In–Law Unit
Convert the master bedroom and bath area to an in–law unit, and then turn the game room and bedroom 4 on the upper level into a dramatic and spacious Master Suite.
