Description
This log home combines the traditional art of log home construction with today's modern construction materials. The stone at the base of the house complements the wood timbers, and reinforces the classic "rustic" look of a log house. This look extends to the interior of the house, which adds to the comfortable feeling it provides.
After climbing the entry porch steps, you find yourself on a long entry deck that spans the length of the house. The entry foyer has two coat closets, room for a bench, and direct access to the laundry room/walk–in pantry, which opens onto the kitchen on the other side. A door to a three–car garage is to the right, and as you walk down the hall to the living spaces, you pass a powder room and the master bedroom. The master bedroom has two closets, and the master bath has both a corner tub and a separate shower. Exposed wood timber at the walls and ceilings are located throughout the house, making each room feel warm and cozy.
The open living spaces have a vaulted ceiling, with exposed log purlins at the ceiling. The living room is open to the kitchen, which has an L–shaped center island with a raised eating counter. A door from the kitchen opens into the walk–in pantry and laundry room, which has room for a secondary refrigerator or freezer. Next to the kitchen is the dining room, which has a lovely window seat, as well as a pair of doors to the entry deck. A pair of sliding doors divides the dining room from a screened porch, which also has its own door to the living room, creating a convenient alternative space to dine and to enjoy the outdoor weather.
The upstairs landing opens up into a loft space that looks down to the living room below. Three more bedrooms are located on the upper floor, two of which have window seats that look down to the front, as well as a shared full bath. A large open bonus room that sits under the slopes of the roof is located over the garage space. It would make an ideal recreation room and even has a small private deck.
