Description

This home is a quaint one–story cottage design, and its narrow width – just 30' across – makes it ideal for a narrow lot. Its features include an open floor plan with a vaulted ceiling in the living room, a large master suite with a vaulted ceiling in the bedroom, and a cozy family room on the lower level.

After coming off of the covered front porch, you enter a spacious and open living area. The ceiling in the living room angles sharply up from 9' at the room's edges to a flat 11'. A niche on one wall accommodates a fireplace next to a built–in for media. The room is open to the dining and kitchen spaces, creating an open and flexible environment. The kitchen features a useful "L" shaped counter with a raised eating or serving counter between it and the dining and living rooms. As you go down the hall, you pass a bedroom on your left, and a mudroom and a full bath on your right, before entering the master suite. The mudroom has a long coat closet and a niche for a bench, and provides access to the lower level as well as to the side yard. The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling just like the one in the living room, a huge walk– in closet with a conveniently located washer and dryer, and sliding glass doors to a rear deck. The master bath has room for both a whirlpool tub and a large shower, a private toilet in the shower area, and two sinks.

Since the original home was built with a full basement underground, light wells were included to bring in light and natural ventilation to the lower level. On a sloped lot, this could easily be a walk– out basement. A large family room provides additional space for relaxing and entertaining. A bedroom with a full bath across the hall, and a utility/storage room, are also located on this (optional) lower level, with room left over for another bedroom suite or an office that could otherwise just be used for storage.

Foundation Info
This house was originally designed to have a basement foundation. However, if you prefer a crawlspace or a slab foundation, these are fairly simple and inexpensive changes that your builder can often make for you. If the basement design is not displayed in the Floor Plans, it's because it is unfinished.
