Description
This home has a more discreet appearance in the front, but it really opens up in the back, with abundant glass windows and doors for great outdoor views. The combination of stone and cedar siding is complemented with stone covered tapered columns found in the front and rear of the home. If you don't want or need the basement level, this house can be built without it and still allow for 2 (or 3) bedrooms on the main level.
An arched, covered entryway leads to a large foyer space that has room for furniture or built–ins, and open views to a stairwell and the great room straight ahead. Double doors lead to an office/guest room/study which has a fireplace and a connecting full bath, which has a secondary door to the foyer for public access. As you walk towards the great room, you pass a small vestibule that accesses the master suite. The master bedroom has a tray ceiling, and a door to the rear deck. A two–sided fireplace is located between the bedroom and the master bath, bringing firelight and warmth to both rooms. The master bath also features a large tub located in a light–filled corner, a separate shower, a private toilet room, two vanity sinks, and access to a walk–in closet.
The great room has a vaulted ceiling with an exposed truss system, which helps to make the room feel more intimate. A fireplace on one wall extends to the ceiling, and upper windows bring in additional light and views. The room is completely open to a spacious kitchen that has a large utilitarian central island and a walk–in pantry. The kitchen is next to a dining room that extends to the backyard. The dining room has two walls of windows, and glazed sliding doors in the third wall that look out to the covered and open deck. Exposed wood collars at the ceiling add a rustic feeling to this room.
From the kitchen, a small hall leads to a guest suite that has its own private full bath, and sliding glass doors that open onto a partially covered outdoor deck. A rear mudroom has room for a desk and built–ins, and accesses a powder room, an oversized three–car garage, and a laundry room.
The lower level includes an open recreation room with a corner fireplace, a large space for billiards, and a full wet bar. This room is an ideal space for entertaining guests, including sliding glass doors to an outdoor patio. To the right of the recreation room, an oversized hall has room for a window seat, and it leads to a full bath and a guest room. The guest room has a dressing area with its own private vanity sink, and a connecting door to the full bath. The left wing has another guest room with a private full bath, and sliding glass doors to access the backyard. There is also a huge unfinished storage room, which can access a vault space.
