Description

This log home has plenty of view windows at both the ground and upper levels. Exposed log purlins grace the ceilings throughout, including the vaulted ceiling in the great room, which has a log truss as well. A log truss and purlins are also exposed at the front and rear of the exterior, creating a warm, rustic appearance with well–crafted detailing.

The covered front porch has a roof that is supported by settler posts atop stone pillars. The large picture windows at the front of the house give you a glimpse of the interior, and a round window near the roof peak could be finished with a beautiful stained glass window. The entry foyer has a vaulted ceiling, and is bright with sunlight from the windows above. A half–bath with a laundry closet is to the left, and a stairwell to the right. After walking beneath the upper level balcony, you enter a spacious great room with a vaulted ceiling finished with wood purlins and other details. A centrally–located fireplace is flanked with windows on both sides, giving you two–story picture views to the back. An arched opening from the great room opens up to the dining and kitchen areas. A pair of glazed doors from the dining room brings in views and sunlight, and walks out to a deck. Log settler posts – located throughout the center of the house – visually delineate the dining area from the kitchen. A center island in the kitchen accommodates a stove, which frees up counter space. A door from the kitchen leads to an enclosed breezeway that connects the house to a two–car garage, and has a door that opens out to the front yard, providing a secondary entrance. The breezeway also has a stairwell that goes up to a future recreation room with storage, which is located above the garage. The ceiling in the kitchen and dining has a height of 9'3", but the exposed logs in the ceiling are about 8'3" above the floor.

The master bedroom is located on the other side of the great room, and it also features a vaulted ceiling with a log truss and exposed purlins. A pair of glazed doors open onto a private deck. The master bath includes a walk–in closet and has room for both a shower and a soaking tub.

The stairway to the upper level has natural light from the window at the landing, and the upper balcony – which looks down to the entry foyer and great room below – has abundant views looking out to the front and rear. The upper level has a full bath, two bedrooms, and an additional storage closet that's accessed from Bedroom 3. The upper rooms all sit under the slope of the roof.
