The exterior of this handsome mountain home manages to be both rustic and refined at the same time. It's clad in horizontal 6" cedar lap siding, and vertical cedar board & batt siding with a different texture and stain, both of which work beautifully with the synthetic stone detailing.

The covered entry is connected to a front porch that's deep enough for furniture, and has a sloped tongue & groove ceiling crossed by exposed timbers. As you step into the house the ceiling soars to 18' in the foyer. It drops briefly to 9' to accommodate a connecting bridge on the upper level before returning to 18' in the great room. The foyer is flanked by an open stairway to the upper and lower levels on one side and a uniquely shaped powder room on the other.

On the left side of the great room, a fireplace that can also be enjoyed from the dining room and the kitchen is flanked by two doors – one opening to the master suite, and another that opens to a huge (mostly covered) curving deck that wraps around the entire rear of the house. The wall facing the rear deck is filled with windows at both the main and upper levels, providing abundant natural light and magnificent views.

The great room is open to the kitchen and dining room, but the ceiling transitions to a cozier 9' as you leave the great room. The dining room has sliding glass doors that open to the rear deck, and wrap around windows for additional light and views. The kitchen features a large center island with a full–size range on top that allows the person cooking the meal to enjoy the other activities in the house while doing so. A raised bar facing the dining room allows for both casual dining and serving. The sinks sit beneath a pair of windows that look out to and through the front porch, and both counters and cabinets wrap around the kitchen and extend part way into the dining room. An opening off the kitchen brings you to a mudroom with a walk–in pantry on one side, a laundry on the other, and a door that opens to a 2–car garage with plenty of room for a workshop or storage.

The master suite has a spacious bedroom that features its own fireplace, windows flanking the bed area, and sliding glass doors that open to the covered porch. The bath area has two separate vanities, an oversized shower, a walk–in closet, and a private toilet room.

The stairs to the upper level pass a large landing with a window before bringing you to a bridge that connects an office on one side of the house with two bedrooms on the other side. The office is quite spacious, has windows facing the front and side, and glass doors that open to a private deck. The bridge has railings on either side that look down to the great room and the foyer, and it ends at a loft space outside of the bedrooms. Each room has a view, and a private sink area next to a walk–in closet. The toilet and tub/shower are shared.

Should you choose to construct the lower level, it has a large recreation area with a wet bar and sliding glass doors that open to a covered patio, a full guest suite, and loads of storage space.
