Description
This home has many of the attributes of an island home, with a stucco exterior, wrap around deck, and outdoor shower. However, it can easily blend into a suburban setting as well.
The entry brings you into a small foyer with a display cabinet, which leads to the living room. A wood stove is located on one side of the living room, and a bar is located on the other. A guest bedroom and full bathroom are off the living room, and a pair of doors separates these three rooms from the rest of the house, which creates an opportunity for an in–law unit. After passing through the doors, there is a stairwell to the upper floor and a garage to the right. To the left are a storage space, a laundry room, doors to the exterior covered porch, and a full bath. The full bath located next to the exterior porch makes it convenient for those coming back from the beach or ocean.
On the upper floor there is a full bath at the top of the stairs, and a bedroom with a small deck. As you turn the corner, the room opens into a spacious living space with vaulted ceilings, where an open kitchen, dining area, and family room are located. A kitchen island with a stove and an extra sink sits in the center of the kitchen, and is lit by the skylight above. There is plenty of counter space, and a nicely designed nook that accommodates a 4' refrigerator, double ovens and walk–in pantry. A fireplace sits in the center of the family room wall, flanked by windows and doors to the exterior deck. An exterior stairwell goes down to the entry below, which provides an alternative entrance. Past the family room is the master bedroom suite, which features skylights in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom has a separate toilet room, and both a shower and a tub.
Foundation Info
This house was originally designed to have a slab foundation. You can of course change it to a full or partial basement, or to a crawlspace, but you will need the help of a local builder or designer, and the new foundation plans should be reviewed by a structural engineer prior to construction.
