This charming house employs classic design elements of the Craftsman style. It would work equally well in a Craftsman neighborhood with narrow lots or in a rural setting. It features great side views to the left (or right, if reversed) along with a lovely sunroom. There's an attached 2–car garage on the opposite side of the house, and bedroom 4 could have several other uses if you only need three bedrooms. It can be a passive solar house if it faces east.

The covered front porch leads to a foyer that brings you directly into the main living spaces of the home, all of which are open to each other. The great room and dining area are surrounded by windows providing views along with an abundance of natural light. The ceiling here and in the kitchen rises from 8' at the edges to 9'6" down the center, giving this open space a more interesting look and feel. The great room wall facing the front juts out to allow for a long interior window box.

The kitchen features a large center island with seating on either end, a large pantry, and windows over the sinks that look out to the sunroom. A glazed door located between the kitchen and the dining area provides access to a glass–enclosed sunroom that would be convenient as a breakfast room, which then leads to a large patio for outdoor dining and entertaining.

The hall leading to the back of the house has lots of built–in shelves, and sky tubes above to bring in natural light. The first door on the left leads to bedroom 2, which has a view to the side, a walk–in closet, and a bathroom with room for a tub or a large shower. This bathroom does double duty as a powder room for guests. Across the hall from the bedroom door there's an HVAC closet next to an enclosure with a metal door that can be used as a safe room or for storing wine. And across from the powder room there's a door that opens to a large room that could serve many different uses, including being used as a bedroom.

At the end of the hall you enter a vestibule that provides access to the master suite, the laundry room, and another bedroom that could also be used for other purposes. The far wall of the master bedroom is lined with windows for views and natural light. The master bath has windows on two walls and features a large shower with a glass block wall, and a private toilet area. You pass between his & hers closets on the way to a pair of doors that open to the laundry room.

The house includes a 2–vehicle garage with side entry doors. Pull–down attic stairs are in the middle between the cars.

Modification Idea
Turn the large bedroom 4 into a home office with its own side entry near the garage.
