Description
This beautiful two–story home has both Craftsman and Tudor influences, resulting in a variety of wood details and trims. The stone at the base grounds the home, while the wood and window designs invite you in.
After coming off of the covered front porch, you enter a foyer space with a stairwell to the left and an open formal dining room to the right. Straight ahead is an open family room with exposed wood beams above. To the left is a kitchen with a walk–in pantry, which is separated from the family room by a center island, and to the right is an impressive fireplace hearth. At the rear is a family dining nook, with windows looking out to the rear terrace. From the dining nook, a small mud hall leads to a small home office, a three–car garage, and a guest suite with a full bath. With its own door to the rear terrace, the guest suite would make an ideal in–law suite as well.
After coming upstairs, the landing opens up to a wide upper loft. A pair of doors leads to the master bedroom suite, which features a sitting room space lined with windows. You pass a walk–in closet as you go towards the master bath, which has a whirlpool tub, a toilet room, and a separate shower. To the left of the stairwell are a full bath, a bedroom, and a huge playroom/recreation room. To the right of the stairwell are a laundry room and fourth bedroom, with its own private full bath. From this bedroom there is also access to attic storage under the slopes of the roof.
Foundation Info
This house was originally designed to have a crawlspace foundation. However, if you prefer a basement or slab foundation, these are fairly simple and inexpensive changes that your builder can often make for you.
Please Note
This house was originally designed for a couple in Charlotte, North Carolina, who (understandably) do not want another house just like theirs built nearby. If you're planning to build within a 50–mile radius of downtown Charlotte, the designer needs to approve the location before he'll grant a copyright release allowing you to legally build the house. Just give us the address or location of your property, via email or phone –– and we'll get back to you right away.
Electronic Format
These plans were drawn using a well–known and highly respected architectural design software program called SoftPlan (version 13). This software can export the same files in .dwg format, so they can also be modified by anyone who uses AutoCAD, which is nearly universal. The CD for this plan includes the files in both SoftPlan and AutoCAD–ready .dwg, as well as in .pdf for easy viewing on your home or office computer.
