Description

The covered front porch was designed with decorative paving stones that continue to the inside entry foyer. Upon entering, your view straight ahead is through the spacious great room to the lake (river, forest, mountainsÉ) beyond. The great room has magnificent views from floor to the vaulted ceiling, which peaks at 21 feet!. A wood beam with truss work above it makes the room feel more intimate, and gives it a rustic feel. A large centrally–located stone fireplace faces the great room and the dining room beyond it, and is also visible from the kitchen. The open dining area has lots of sunlight and views provided by the wall of windows facing the rear, and the sun porch that is located next to it. The open kitchen has a center island with a raised eating bar, and a small nook for a wet bar or a desk. A door from the kitchen leads to a pantry and a mudroom hall which has room for lockers, two closets, and a bench, and provides access to a laundry room and to the detached garage. The main floor has a ceiling height of 9' except for the vaulted great room and the mud room, which has a ceiling height of 8'. A breezeway connects the house to the garage, providing protection from rain or cold.

The entry foyer has a large coat closet, and a powder room is conveniently located around a corner. To the right of the foyer is a stairwell to the upper level, and a door to the master suite. The master bedroom has windows that look out to the rear and the side, and the master bathroom features a soaking tub (a claw foot in the original house), a separate toilet room with a large shower, two sinks, and access to a large walk–in closet.

The upstairs landing opens up to a loft space that sits under the slope of the roof and looks down to the great room below. To the left there is a bedroom with a full bath, off of which is a smaller room that can be used for storage or as a small office. [If you'd like a larger bedroom area, this space could be a walk–in closet] To the right there is a third bedroom with a full bath, and a den.
