Description

A covered porch area with three arched openings spans a good portion of the front of the house. As you pass through the front door you enter a foyer with a dramatic 19' ceiling. Double doors on your left open to a den that could also be used as a study, guest room, or home office, and the formal dining room is on your right. Straight ahead, after passing beneath a narrow area with a 9' ceiling that supports the hallway on the upper level, the ceiling again rises to 19' in the spacious living room. A curved wall of stacked windows that extend almost to the ceiling looks out to the covered deck and the views beyond, and a large fireplace provides another focal point to this grand space.

The kitchen is perfectly positioned to access all of the living spaces in the house. It features an island with a double sink on top and a dishwasher below, lots of counter space, a small desk, and a walk–in pantry in the corner. A long countertop with cabinets below separates the kitchen from a casual dining area that is filled with sunlight during the day. A door in this area leads to both the covered and open deck at the rear of the house. Also open to the kitchen are a casual living space with a corner fireplace that can also be seen from the kitchen area, and the formal dining room. Between the kitchen and the 4–car garage is a large combination mudroom and laundry.

The other side of the house is devoted to the master bedroom suite and bedroom 2. The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling, three large side–by–side windows for natural light and views, and doors leading to both the aforementioned covered deck and another covered private deck. Double doors open to the master bath. It features a large soaking tub framed by windows in two directions, an extra large shower, two separate sinks, and a private toilet. A door in the bathroom opens to a truly enormous walk–in closet.

Bedrooms 3 and 4 are located on the upper level, and each has its own full bathroom. The remainder of the upper floor was used by the original homeowners as a play area for their children. A portion of the ceilings in Bedroom 3 and Children's Retreat have sloping ceilings that are opened up with dormers.

Should you choose to construct the basement, you can add up to 2,000 sf of living space. As designed, it includes a 5th bedroom with a full bath, a home office, a library, and a large entertainment area with a full bar and a lounge. Most of the lower level has a ceiling height of 9'9" but some rooms, such as the closet, bathrooms, hallway, bar, and part of the recreation room and library have a ceiling height of 8&39;9". The lounge space has a ceiling height of 8'2".
