Description

This gorgeous home blends different styles to create a universally appealing design inside and out. The front of the house features traditional elements such as the wood 'plank' window shutters, the stone finish at the base, and the wood columns on stone pillars at the entrance and wraparound porch, while the rear of the house features abundant outdoor views, along with curved bay windows at the screened porch and the great room on the main floor, and the master sitting area on the upper floor.

The covered entry has a decorative barrel vault ceiling, and wood columns on tapered stone pillars that also outline the wraparound porch. After entering the foyer space, there is an open staircase straight ahead with an opening that looks up to the second floor, a formal dining room to the left, and a parlor room to the right. Both rooms have fireplaces to warm the spaces, curved bay windows that look out to the front, and 10'–high ceilings like most of the rooms on this level. The dining room has a sliding door that opens into a butler's pantry with a barrel vault ceiling and a counter with a sink and under counter refrigerator.

As you pass the central staircase on the right side, you pass a bookshelf niche and a small vestibule with double doors that open into a large office. The office has a closet in one corner and a built–in refrigerator and sink in another. The far wall has two large windows for views and natural light placed above and between built–in bookshelves and cabinets, and a door on a side wall opens onto the wrap–around porch.

Beyond the office, there are two (optional) steps down to the great room. This impressive space features a ceiling that vaults to over 20' and has exposed wood trusses that add some rustic warmth to the room. A stone fireplace hearth with a double–sided fireplace is located at the end of the room, flanked by a curved wall of windows on either side. These large picture windows, and three more just like them on the side wall, have additional windows above them for even more light and an expanded view. Built–in bookcases between two columns serve as a divider between the great room and a casual dining area. This room has windows that look out to the rear deck and beyond, and a glazed door that opens out to the deck. The deck has plenty of room for entertaining, and an outdoor fireplace for warmth in cooler weather.

The open kitchen has two center islands for maximum prep space and casual dining. Curved bay windows located above the sink provide lots of natural light as well as views to and through the rear deck area. There is an abundance of counter and storage space, and there's even room for two dishwashers! A door in one corner opens into a wonderful circular–shaped screened porch with a small fireplace. A short hallway from the kitchen leads to a craft room that also opens to the screened porch, a huge walk–in pantry with room for a freezer, and a spacious laundry room with a utility sink. Another opening by the secondary staircase to the upper level leads to a mudroom with plenty of storage space, and a powder room. A door from here opens into a large two–car garage that has an adjoining single–car garage space.

Both staircases bring you to a large landing on the upper level that provides access to the master suite, three additional bedrooms, and a huge playroom above the garage. A pair of doors off the landing open into the master suite. The master bedroom has a 10' ceiling with a soffit surround (the rest of the rooms on this level have 9' ceilings), and windows that look out to the rear and side. A lovely circular sitting area with a fireplace is located over the screened porch on the main floor, providing a cozy space to relax, read, and enjoy the multiple outdoor views. A pair of doors from the bedroom open into a luxurious master bath area. A large soaking tub on the left sits beneath a pair of windows. The bathroom features a U–shaped counter with two vanity sinks, a private toilet room, and a separate shower space. A door from the bath opens into a huge walk–in closet and dressing area that's divided into two spaces.

From the master suite, if you walk straight down the hall, you find the door to bedroom 2, which has a window seat that looks out to the side and a private full bath with a connecting walk–in closet. Bedrooms 3 and 4 both have window seats that look out to the front, and each has its own private full bath. These two bedrooms also share a play area that features a curved wall with windows that look out to the front. A large playroom/recreation room on this level has three dormers with window seats that open up the ceiling height. The playroom has a large linen closet for a stacking washer/dryer, and a design for a future full bath.

If you choose to build out the entire lower level, you'll gain an additional 3,184 square feet of living space. After coming down the stairs there is a large exercise room on the right, and a storage space straight ahead that provides access to a vault room. Turning left at the bottom of the stairs leads you past a guest room with a full bath on your way to the entertainment portion of the lower level. There's a sunken media area with a fireplace and views to the rear, and a huge open area for billiards and gaming that's serviced by a full bar. A wine cellar is located behind the bar, as is an extra large storage area. Large sliding glass doors in the billiards area look out to and open onto an outdoor covered patio. From the gaming area, a door opens into a large circular guest suite that sits under the screened porch above. The curved wall has windows that provide a 180–degree view, and a glazed door that walks out to the patio. It features a full bath with a private toilet room and two vanity sinks, and a walk–in closet. Most of the rooms on this level have a 9'9" ceilings.
