Description

Two symmetrical staircases lead to the covered entry porch, which extends to an optional breezeway that connects to a detached garage. The entry door opens into a foyer space with a coat closet and an open staircase. Like the rest of the rooms on this level, the foyer ceiling is set at a lofty 10'. To the left, sliding doors open into a formal dining room with windows that look out to the front. An opening from the dining room leads to the breakfast/kitchen area for easy access. As you walk towards the great room from the foyer space, you pass a powder room on the left and a door to the master suite and study on the right.

A 5'–wide opening framed with square columns leads to the spacious great room. Along the rear wall, a central fireplace is flanked by French doors that open into a screened porch. This porch connects with two additional screened porches located on either side of the house, providing plenty of protected space to enjoy the outdoor views. (The original homeowners chose to build a deck instead of a screened porch off of the master bedroom, as reflected in the photos.)

From the great room, a pocket door opens into the kitchen and breakfast space. The L–shaped kitchen features a large center island, a window above the sinks for views to and through the screened porch, and a pantry located on one wall next to the refrigerator. There's also a walk–in pantry off the breakfast area. A glazed French door opens into the screened porch, and windows along the side wall bring plenty of sunlight into the kitchen and breakfast area. A door from the breakfast area opens into a laundry room, which has a door that opens onto the front covered porch.

The master bedroom features a fireplace flanked with niches for built–in cabinets, a door that walks out to the screened porch at the rear, and two large windows for natural light and views. From the bedroom, a vestibule area accesses a linen closet, a walk–in closet that's divided into two sections, and the master bath. The bath has a vanity with two sinks, a tub that sits beneath a pair of windows, a separate shower, and a private toilet room.

The upper landing opens up to a sitting area with a French door that opens onto an exterior covered porch that faces the front. On this level there are two bedrooms with walk–in closets and views to the front and side, two full baths, and a study. The study has a walk–in closet, and a pocket door to one of the bathrooms, so it could easily be used as an additional bedroom or guest room. It features a fireplace on the rear wall that's flanked with windows, and like all the rooms on this level, the ceiling is set at 9'.

This plan comes with drawings for a detached two–car garage with room for a shop space, and a bonus room above. The upper room has a full bath, a ceiling that vaults to 9' in the center, and dormers along two walls that open up the sloping ceilings and bring in natural light.
