Description

An 8'–wide covered porch that leads to the front door also opens to a large (20' wide by 12' deep) screened porch next to it that spans the rest of the front of the house, just outside the living room. The entryway is visually delineated by three columns supporting wide beams at the ceiling, with a low (42") wall between it and the dining area, and a large oval window in the outer wall. The living room is just to your left. Like all of the rooms on this level, the ceiling is set at a lofty 10'. There's a centrally–located fireplace flanked by built–ins on the far wall, and four pairs of glazed doors – three that open out to the front screened porch, and another that opens to the covered porch – that provide abundant natural light and views.

As you enter the dining area there are stairs to the upper level, a powder room, and a coat closet on your left. The dining room is open to the kitchen, and features four tall windows for light and views. The kitchen has a center island with a range on top, and a raised bar for casual eating or serving, and an entire wall is devoted to a pantry with four pairs of doors. A pocket door opens to a large utility and laundry room at the rear of the house that can also be accessed from the rear of the house.

The rest of the main level is devoted to the master suite. A door between the powder room and the closet opens to a short hallway. On the left, just past some built–in shelves, there's a door to a large walk–in closet, while straight ahead another door opens to the master bath. The bath has both a soaking tub and a large shower, two separate vanities, and a private toilet. The bedroom is on the other side of the hallway. It has two windows in the sleeping area, and a sunny sitting area just beyond it.

The stairs to the upper level bring you to an open and sunny loft space with a ceiling that vaults to 9'. Off this space, the area at the rear of the house has two bedrooms, each with its own full bath, walk–in closet, and views to the side and rear. A portion of the ceilings in the bedrooms slope from 6' at the rear wall to 9' high. There is also a study with a built–in L–shaped desk. And at the front of the house there's a large room, also with a full bath and walk–in closet, which can be used as either a family room or a fourth bedroom. Window seats are built–in beneath four windows looking out to the front, and doors on each side wall open to attic space under the eaves. All the rooms on this level – except for the bedrooms and the family room that vaults in the center – have 9' ceilings.
