This rambling, languid home is spread out, long and curving, like a relaxed cat on a warm windowsill. Built in four progressive sections, it lends itself to anything from flat ground to a gently sloping lot, or even moderate grades. Architecturally, the thick walls, abundant windows, vaulted ceilings, and multiple fireplaces combine to give Napa a decidedly luxurious feel.

Urban Lodge has both modern and Craftsman influences, creating a unique home with clean lines in the interior and more texture and details on the exterior. The original homeowners chose metal for the roof, and a combination of cedar lap siding, wood shingles and steel plate for the exterior, along with battered stone veneer at some window and door openings. A combination of styles and materials that's both beautiful and functional.

This modified version of the extremely popular Luxury Living home is ideal for those who don't wish to build a lower (walk–out basement) level. Another bedroom has been added, while keeping the same square footage on the main level as the original house. Along with the removal of the basement level, the main level powder room is relocated to the front entry, which creates a more open and spacious breakfast area with clear views outward. On the upper level there is now a full bedroom suite with a full bath, and with the removal of one of the staircases, it allows for additional square footage for a loft area next to the library.
