Total Sq. Ft.: 2519 Bedrooms: 4 Baths: 2.5
This compact home is full of the Not So Big House concepts created by Sarah Susanka. The center of the home is filled light coming in from an atrium that can also provide natural cooling. Every room on the main floor is vaulted, making the house feel open and spacious. The centrally located hearth, for either a wood stove or a fireplace, adds character to this unique home. If you wish to take advantage of its passive solar design, the front of this house should face northwest (or northeast if reversed).

Total Sq. Ft.: 2489 Bedrooms: 2 Baths: 2.0
The kitchen, living and dining areas in this home are essentially one large open space with a vaulted ceiling. A French door leads from one corner of the great room to the rear deck, and the wood stove (or fireplace hearth) is located in the opposite corner. The front entry porch could serve as a cool summer porch with all of the windows open on a hot day, and as an airlock entry for cold winter days. If you wish to take advantage of its passive solar design, the front of this house should face north.
