This is a very compact house with a Scandinavian tone, designed originally for a couple with strong ties to Finland. Tall trees uphill to the south meant limited winter solar gain, so the architect concentrated on creating good energy-retention, and probably more important, a very cozy feeling inside.

This cedar sided home is full of versatility, with its multi–levels and its angled walls throughout the house. The octagon–shaped screened porch at the front of the house punches out from the otherwise traditional exterior.

Total Sq. Ft.: 1216 Bedrooms: 1 Baths: 1.0
This two–car garage was originally designed and built to accompany the Sun Gable house, which we also offer. It accommodates two cars on the ground level, and has an upper level with a studio, a full bath, and plenty of storage under the roof eaves.

Total Sq. Ft.: 4626 Bedrooms: 4 Baths: 2.5
The exterior of this home is faced with a combination of stone and brick veneer, including the arched openings in the windows, entry porch, and garage openings. Wood shutters and wood trim details contrast with the earthen materials, softening the facade as well as accentuating the brickwork.

The charming hipped–gable roof, clapboard style siding and brick chimney add a quaint touch to this lakeside home. Its modest size and straightforward design make it economical to construct as well.
