This is a house whose forms grew out of an interaction of three primary forces. The first was the clients' desire to have a house with rooms that reflected the way they spend their day. The second force was the very long and harsh Maine winter. The third force was the architect's desire to design a house that would be a comfortable neighbor to the very modest and friendly frame houses that were in the surrounding area.

French Country Home

This luxurious French country home was originally finished in stone veneer and wood cedar shingles. It is reminiscent of Old World architecture, with its wooden shutters and trim, and the arched entryway that mimics the multiple arched windows at the front and rear.

Sunny Bungalow

This sun–filled home has a great room with two walls of windows, and a glass enclosed porch that could be used as a sunroom. The upper floor has a sitting room/study with a lovely covered deck for outdoor views and relaxing.

Durham Cottage

The exterior of this fine house is distinguished by its clean lines and its simple yet unique rooflines. From the front, the upper roof covering the upper floor is matched by a parallel roof over the porch, while an identical roofline over the kitchen is set at 90 degrees. And from the side these elements are equally attractive and unique.
