Lake & Beach House Plans
Whether you’re looking for beach house plans, lake house plans, or coastal house plans, all of our waterfront house plans have one thing in common: they all have tons of windows facing the water.
Most houses built from lake home plans have a view to the rear, and they occasionally have views to one or both sides as well. This is generally true of beach-front homes as well, but some beach house floor plans call for the front to face the waves.
Many homes built from beach house plans and lake house plans feature outdoor spaces like porches (screened or open), patios and decks that face the water. Kitchens and the main living areas are typically located to take advantage of the views, focused on large windows that also provide abundant natural light during the day.
A good number of our lake front house plans and waterfront house plans were used to construct homes on lots that slope toward the water. If the slope is steep enough, they sometimes have walk-out basements.
Common Characteristics of Beach, Coastal & Lake House Plans:
- May be of almost any style
- Have plenty of glazing on the wall facing the water
- May have large side-facing windows as well
- Often have porches and decks facing the water
- Occasionally have a view tower
- Coastal house plans are often of a style common in that state
