Modern Prairie Cottage

Architect: Michael J. Eckhardt

Total Sq. Ft.: 2262  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.5

The prairie style influence is immediately apparent when you look at the exterior of this house. At just 27' in width, it was clearly designed for a family with a narrow lot. It has both a formal entry at the front, and a casual entry next to a screened porch at the rear. The plans include drawings for a detached garage, and should you decide to build the basement you would be able to add a fourth bedroom and full bath along with a family room, an exercise room, laundry and utilities rooms, and lots of storage.

James Gower Residential Design

Total Sq. Ft.: 2245  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 3.0

This home was originally designed for a sloping lot in the mountains, and takes advantage of the sunlight with its use of abundant windows and central atrium skylight. The stone columns, wood siding, and wood timber elements give this house a rustic appeal that would fit in most anywhere.

Distinctive Urban Cottage

Architect: Michael J. Eckhardt

Total Sq. Ft.: 1819  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.5

Distinctive Urban Cottage, at just 24' to 26' in total width, is perfect for narrow lots. The architect's efficient use of space resulted in a compact home with plenty of living space. The exterior has the clean lines and traditional materials of a classic cottage. The kitchen sits between a casual nook on one side and a formal dining room on the other, and all three rooms have a view. The living room has a fireplace flanked by windows on one wall, and sliding glass doors that open to a patio at the rear of the house on another. The master suite is upstairs, along with two more bedrooms and a laundry closet.

Urban Eclectic

Architect: Michael J. Eckhardt

Total Sq. Ft.: 2546  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.5

Steep roofs, punctuated by abundant dormers with windows, characterize this light–filled home. It was originally designed for a sloped lot, so the front appears to be two floors, but at the rear it's three levels if you build the basement level. Kitchen, dining and living room occupy one large open space with a fireplace at one end. There's a screened porch off the kitchen for outdoor dining, and a door in the porch opens to a sunny deck. There's also a sunny study off of the foyer that would work equally well as a home office. The master suite is on the upper level, along with two more bedrooms and an optional bonus space above the garage.
