The design of this elegant house was based on the traditional Michigan Lake homes with its painted clapboard siding and white trim details at both the exterior and interior. With its richly detailed wraparound covered porch and its graceful curving roof, the home exudes a welcoming feeling to its owners and their guests. The entire house is cloaked in multi–pane windows that add charm to the exterior and amazing views from within. The interior features a vaulted octagon–shaped study and a two–story high family room with an impressive stone fireplace hearth.

This elegant home was built on property overlooking horse facilities and a spectacular polo field. The design imagery suggests a Kentucky–gentleman's breeder's ranch, with wrap–around porches, dormers, and a classic gray and white color scheme with a deep green roof. Driving under and through the house to a drive court in the rear provides access to the four–car garage. A separate live–in or in–law suite with separate stair is located over a private one–car garage.

This one–of–a–kind home was designed to capitalize on a site accessed from the downhill side, and with views on the downhill side. The facade of the original house was composed of stone veneer and thick lap siding, with lots of wood details at the gable, around the windows, and at the entryway. Antique wood beams and flooring that was reclaimed from an old mine were used liberally in the interior, adding a rustic feel to this otherwise contemporary home.

This unique home really emphasizes outdoor living and dining. It features a large covered outdoor kitchen/sitting space located next to the rear terrace that has a sink, an under counter refrigerator, space for a flat–screen TV, a barbeque, and a fire pit. Also just off the terrace is a spa area. Three bedroom suites – each with its own private full bath – jut out from three corners of the home, which creates more opportunities for windows and maximum outdoor views. This provides three options for the master suite!
