Lake Manor

Architect: Karen Keating, AIA
TKP Architects

Total Sq. Ft.: 3680  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 3.5

The front of this house, while quite attractive and welcoming, gives little indication of the gorgeous and dramatic interior and the spectacular rear view. Unique features include an octagonal study with glass filling every wall and a ceiling that peaks at 13', a family room with an 18' ceiling and a wide and deep bay filled with windows, and a master bedroom with a two–sided fireplace that can be enjoyed from the bed or a sitting area. A covered front porch wraps around one side of the house, and there's a deep deck at the rear. The original homeowners selected multi–pane windows throughout because they loved the look, but of course picture windows would work just as well.

Carolina Charm

Architect: R. Wayne Rainey Jr., AIA
Addison Rainey Architects

Total Sq. Ft.: 4257  Bedrooms: 2  Baths: 2.5

This classic southern home features lots of traditional elements – wooden shutters at the windows, a long covered front porch supported by columns, a screened porch – but there's one design element that sets it apart from its traditional cousins. An octagonal projection from the front left of the house provides an octagon–shaped office with a 270–degree view off the master suite on the second level, and stairs in the office lead up to an identical room with the same view that's referred to as the observation tower. This tower space also has a private deck that wraps around it!

Traditional Splendor

Architect: John Barrja
Barrja Design

Total Sq. Ft.: 4934  Bedrooms: 4  Baths: 4.5

Traditional details ranging from gothic arches to exposed timbers result in a beautifully crafted home that abounds with character. The interior is no less impressive, with arched windows and openings, and a combination of flat, vaulted, and barreled ceilings. The coupling of traditional architectural elements and contemporary details create a truly luxurious house.

Traditional Yet Contemporary

Architect: William Elan
William Elan

Total Sq. Ft.: 5810  Bedrooms: 5  Baths: 5.5

This 5,800 sq ft Neo–classical home has six bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths. The great room serves as the central entertaining space with a formal sitting area and dining set up. The master suite is located on the first floor, and boasts two separate closets, a soaking tub room and separate shower, and a water closet. The rear of the house has a sun–bathed breakfast room, a long covered porch, a screen porch, and a rear terrace with an outdoor fireplace. Adding to the charm of the home, this plan incorporates lots of large windows, barrel and vaulted ceilings, built–ins and niches.

Southern Revival 2

Architect: R. Wayne Rainey Jr., AIA
Addison Rainey Architects

Total Sq. Ft.: 3290  Bedrooms: 4  Baths: 3.5

As you'll see, this version is quite similar to the original house. The covered front porch of this classic southern–style house is more than 50 feet wide, and the 25'–wide section in the middle is 13'–deep. At the rear of the house there's a screened porch that's the same width, and 14'–deep. The master suite is located on the main level, and three more bedrooms plus a loft space and a playroom are located on the upper level.
