Porch Cabin

Architect: Dale Mulfinger, FAIA
SALA Architects, Inc.

Total Sq. Ft.: 1879  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.0

The Porch Cabin was inspired by cabins built in the early 1900's, and it features a screened porch that wraps around three sides of the house. It is reminiscent of the old-fashioned porch cabins that let weekenders visiting from the city sit outside and enjoy the fresh country air, even if it rained all weekend long.

An Island

Architect: R W Knight
Knight Architecture

Total Sq. Ft.: 1237  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 1.0

The architect has always seen this house as an island in a sea of woods or fields. In the clients' case it was a second growth spruce and cedar forest a bit inland from the Maine coast.

Lake Cabin

Architect: Eric Gedney
Eric Gedney Architect

Total Sq. Ft.: 2593  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.5

The Lake Cabin is an impressive three bedroom home that has a rugged exterior look – with its exterior lap siding and cedar corner boards – but the interior has a luxurious look and feel to it. This home provides plenty of interior and exterior spaces to enjoy, and an exterior fireplace to warm you on cold nights.

Island CoHousing

Architect: South Mountain Company, Inc.
South Mountain Company, Inc.

Total Sq. Ft.: 1094  Bedrooms: 2  Baths: 1.0

Originally designed for a neighborhood in Martha's Vineyard, Island CoHousing provides variations of a basic two–bedroom home, with options that include a third bedroom and a fourth bedroom.

The Cottage

Architect: R W Knight
Knight Architecture

Total Sq. Ft.: 1539  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.0

The Cottage is a shingled cabin designed for the shores of a beautiful harbor on the Maine coast, where it is important to have a house that talks the language of its 19th century neighbors. With its cottage-like appearance and features, as well as its compact shape, it would also work well on many other types of sites.
