Timbered Lake Retreat

Architect: Katherine Hillbrand, AIA, Principal
SALA Architects, Inc.

Total Sq. Ft.: 1756  Bedrooms: 2  Baths: 2.0

This small lakeside retreat has many interesting features, including a stairway that wraps around a large stone fireplace leading to a charming couple's loft that has a steeply vaulted ceiling, great views of the lake, and a small reading area. The second bedroom is on another level, at the other end of the house. A perfect little get–away!

Crystal's Craftsman

Architect: Ed Kriskywicz
Construction Design

Total Sq. Ft.: 2260  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.0

This compact 3–bedroom house was originally designed as a vacation home. The exterior features Craftsman detailing and exposed wood at the eaves, and the homeowners chose cedar shingles for the outer walls. There are great views to the rear and sides from both levels of the house, and a large fireplace warms all the primary living spaces.

Cow Island Camp Cottage

Architect: Rob Whitten
Whitten + Winkelman, Architects

Total Sq. Ft.: 1712  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.0

This rustic vacation cottage has a deck that wraps from the side of the house around to the front, where it connects with a screened porch on the other side. As you'll see from the photos, the original homeowners chose to employ oiled pine throughout the interior. Three bedrooms on the upper level share a full bath.

Marina Village

Architect: William J. Addison, AIA
Addison Rainey Architects

Total Sq. Ft.: 3480  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 3.5

This unique 4–story (or 3–story if you choose not to build the optional ground floor) home was originally built in a development that included a marina. Each of the upper floors has a covered or exposed balcony, and the small–paned windows add to its southern charm. This could be an ideal home for someone who needs more square footage than their small lot would normally provide, or for someone with a view over treetops or other obstructions.

St. Croix Cottage

Architect: Robert Gerloff
SALA Architects, Inc.

Total Sq. Ft.: 2042  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 1.0

As you approach this unique cottage, you cross an open sun deck that is covered as you pass between two large decorative columns. Along the deck's width there are three pairs of doors filled with multi–paned glass that open to the great room. A storage space is conveniently located next to the deck. On the upper level, there's a bunk room that could easily be converted into the master bedroom.
